Job Summary:
Houston Skilled Consultancy is seeking a reliable and experienced Goods Carrier Driver to join our logistics team in Coimbatore. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of goods across various locations, ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. You will play a crucial role in the logistics process, delivering goods to customers while maintaining the safety and quality standards of the company.
Key Responsibilities:
• Drive goods carriers to transport goods from one location to another within Coimbatore and surrounding areas.
• Ensure the safe loading, unloading, and delivery of goods as per company guidelines.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, ensuring it is in good working condition.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including documentation such as delivery receipts and mileage logs.
• Comply with all local traffic laws and safety regulations while operating the vehicle.
• Communicate effectively with warehouse personnel, logistics coordinators, and clients to ensure smooth operations.
• Assist with basic vehicle maintenance, such as refueling, checking tire pressure, and ensuring the vehicle is clean and operational.
• Report any vehicle issues, accidents, or delays promptly to the supervisor.
• Maintain a professional and courteous attitude while interacting with customers and team members.
• Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Valid commercial driving license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
• At least 1-2 years of experience driving goods carriers or similar vehicles.
• Strong understanding of road safety rules and regulations.
• Ability to load and unload goods safely and securely.
• Good communication skills and a customer-oriented approach.
• Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Physical fitness to handle the demands of driving and loading/unloading goods.
• Experience:
• Previous experience in driving goods carrier vehicles, especially in logistics or delivery roles, is preferred.
• Demonstrated experience with loading and unloading cargo is a plus.
• Experience with local roads and routes in Coimbatore and surrounding areas is advantageous.
• Working Hours:
• Full-time position with flexible working hours.
• The role may require weekend shifts or occasional overtime depending on delivery schedules.
• Regular working hours typically range from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with potential for early or late shifts based on operational needs.
