About the Role: We are seeking a Government Affairs Intern to support our team in shaping energy policy, tax, and trade issues at the federal and state levels. This role will involve conducting policy research, monitoring legislative and regulatory processes, developing briefing materials, and supporting public policy advocacy efforts.

The ideal candidate will be based in Washington, D.C. to interact with our government affairs team and participate in meetings. However, we encourage candidates from other regions or remote locations to apply.

This is an entry-level internship opportunity, requiring 20 hours/week for a limited duration. Prior experience is not necessary, but demonstrated interest in the field is highly valued.

Responsibilities:
Policy Tracking: Monitor and evaluate policies affecting our business and the energy storage industry.
Briefing Materials Development: Create memos, presentations, and other information to support company decision making and strategy impacted by government agencies.
Grant Support: Identify and review grant opportunities to advance the installation of our energy storage products, research and development, and other business elements.
Research: Conduct research on industry trends, supply chain developments, and policy practices in other markets to inform advocacy, support policy development, and guide business strategy.

Minimum Qualifications:
Enrollment in or recent graduation from a college, community college, advanced degree, or similar training program.
Demonstrated interest, coursework, or experience in energy policy, renewable energy, batteries, climate change, or trade.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write for external audiences with clarity and concision.
Ability to work in a team environment and among internal and external stakeholders.
Self-motivated working style with comfort working in a remote team environment.
Capability to use Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
Eligibility to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications:
Professional experience in public policy, government affairs, or energy industries.
Prior experience working in a professional environment developing research or other materials for internal and/or external audiences.
