Job description, work day and responsibilities
The Government Tendering Officer – Mechanical & Electrical is responsible for managing the end-to-end process of identifying, preparing, and submitting tenders for government projects, especially from MCGM and other municipal or state agencies, BARC etc.. The role focuses on mechanical and electrical engineering scopes such as pumping systems, HVAC, electrical panels, lighting, IT,biogas
Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor and identify tender opportunities from MCGM, Maharashtra government portals (e.g., MahaTender, CPPP), and e-publishing platforms.
• Review tender documents related to mechanical and electrical works, including eligibility criteria, BOQs, technical specifications, and commercial terms.
• Coordinate with design, estimation, and procurement teams to compile the required technical and financial bid components.
• Prepare technical submissions, including equipment specifications, drawings, and compliance statements for M&E components.
• Prepare and submit online tenders via e-portals (MCGM e-Tender Portal, GeM, MSTC, etc.).
• Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and clarify technical queries with clients or consultants.
• Ensure timely submission of tenders with complete documentation, including EMD, affidavits, and digital signing.
• Maintain detailed records of tenders submitted, results, and post-bid communications.
• Assist in bid estimation, cost analysis, and vendor coordination for pricing M&E items.
• Stay updated on local government procurement policies, engineering standards, and registration processes.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (mandatory).
• 3+ years of experience in government or MCGM tendering, specifically for M&E projects.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word), PDF editors, and e-tendering software.
• Familiarity with BOQ analysis, rate comparison, and vendor coordination.
• Strong understanding of public procurement norms and local municipal standards.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with MCGM projects such as pump houses, HVAC, public lighting, and electrical upgrades.
• Proficiency in Marathi and English for document preparation and communication.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD (basic level) is a plus advantage
