About the Team
The Driver Pricing team is looking for talented data scientists to help us tackle some of the most challenging and interesting problems at Uber. In this role, you will apply your quantitative skills in machine learning, statistics, and economics to improve the Uber user experience and the overall marketplace performance. You'll be a key contributor to the team that designs, evaluates, and builds our systems for pricing trips for drivers.
As a Data Scientist, you will support key business initiatives by conducting data analysis, assisting in model development, and analyzing experiments. You will work closely with other scientists, product managers, and engineers, contributing to our team's mission and gaining invaluable hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment.
What You'll Do
Assist in building and validating statistical and machine learning models under the guidance of senior scientists
Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify trends and answer business questions
Support the design and interpretation of A/B tests to measure the impact of product changes
Prepare and clean large datasets for modeling and analysis
Collaborate with teammates to implement data-driven solutions and contribute to reports and presentations
Learn and apply new methodologies in data science, including modeling, analytics, and experimentation
Basic Qualifications
Graduating or recently graduated with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Operations Research, or other quantitative fields
0-2 years of relevant industry or internship experience
Foundational knowledge of Python or R for data analysis
Familiarity with SQL
Preferred Qualifications
Relevant internship or project experience in data science, analytics, or a related field
A solid understanding of fundamental concepts in statistics and machine learning
Experience with data visualization tools
A strong desire to learn, ask questions, and solve problems
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Exposure to A/B testing or experimental design concepts
For Canada-based roles: The base salary range for this role is CAD$114,000 per year - CAD$120,000 per year. You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
