The Role
In this role, you will support senior staff across a broad spectrum of accounting functions, from taxation and auditing to financial reporting. You will play a key part in ensuring our financial operations are accurate, compliant, and insightful.
Key Responsibilities:
* Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing financial statements for boards of directors, management, and statutory bodies.
* Taxation & Compliance: Support the preparation of taxation returns for individuals and organizations; assist in providing advice on business structures and operations.
* Budgeting & Analysis: Examine operating costs, income, and expenditure to help formulate budgetary policies.
* Audit & Assurance: Assist in conducting financial investigations and audits to provide assurance on report accuracy and statutory compliance.
* Systems & Controls: Help maintain internal control systems and advise on the application of computer-based accounting systems.
* Strategic Support: Contribute to appraisals of cash flow and financial risks for capital investment projects.
Requirements & Skills
We are looking for a candidate who meets the criteria and possesses a strong analytical mindset.
* Education: A Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Accounting or a related field.
* Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel); familiarity with accounting software is a plus.
* Compliance Knowledge: A foundational understanding of Australian accounting standards, taxation laws, and statutory requirements.
* Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for liaising with financial institutions and internal stakeholders.
* Professionalism: High level of integrity, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
* Licensing: Eligibility or progress towards CPA/CA status is highly regarded.
