🚛 Graduate Engineer Mechatronics
Our team at STG is growing and we are now looking for a Graduate Mechatronics Engineer to join our Engineering team in Dandenong South.
At STG, you’ll have excellent design freedom and be exposed to complete project life cycles in a unique environment where you’ll have the ability to make a positive impact in our global supply chain. The Mechatronics Engineer supports the Senior Mechatronics Engineer with electrical and mechanical designs and drawings, software solutions and engineering documentation; while also having the opportunity to physically test and commission the systems you design. S/he works collaboratively with the STG Engineering team, manufacturing teams and production team to constantly improve our current and future product range.
Key projects and tasks;
Generate and maintain electrical schematics and wire harness drawings for a range of mobile machinery.
Design and modify mechanical systems to support electrical system fitment.
Build and maintain the electrical and mechanical design databases.
Plan, generate and develop, revise and document PLC software.
Configure and integrate devices across a range of interfaces such as CAN, TCP/IP and serial.
Provide support and troubleshoot control system problems.
Support the Engineering department and other departments with quality documentation and training.
Work within a team to deliver results within allocated time, budget, and quality constraints.
Follow and continuously improve internal design standards and your ability to translate requirements into a workable design solution.
Commitment to the quality improvement process by participating in improvement initiatives and making suggestions for efficiency and effectiveness.
What we’re looking for in a Graduate
Degree qualified in a relevant engineering field
Sound electrical systems knowledge with technical competence in automotive systems and data buses
System and component design skills and experience preferably using Zuken e3 Cable
PLC programming skills and experience in Codesys
Skills and experience in CAN bus communication; experience in IP based systems desirable
Confident with SolidWorks and some part and assembly design experience
