Job Description
McDowall Print Invercargill New Zealand is a medium sized family run print production company, supplying printing across New Zealand since 1+84. We are the experts in fast, high quality, digital printing, offset printing and labels on roll.
This is a full-time position with immediate start.
Full time Mon-Fri 8am – 4:30pm. 1/2hr Lunch break.
Competitive hourly rate + weekly pay. On-site free parking.
Your main duties would include:
• Recreating or tidying up existing artwork to clients needs and creating digital mock-ups for pre-print approval.
• Check high resolutions PDFs supplied by customers and approving first prints to ensure they are correct before production continues and help get all sorts of print projects successfully out the door and into the hands of various clients.
• Graphic design work, working within brand guidelines and established look and feel. It is important to reflect the qualities of the brand you are working with
• Operating Digital printing machines: Sending files, laying up and printing on a Fuji Revoria digital press and other digital machines
• Helping on other tasks when your regular workload is quiet. This involves assisting in finishing and taking care of general centre duties
• reporting to production manager
• having the right attitude to Learn new skills and happy to keep training continually on new technology
The Right Candidate Must have:
• Experience as a Mac Operator and is a well-rounded Graphic Designer, experienced using Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, full Adobe suite.
• Have experience in digital print, including running of digital machinery, knowledge of printing process and materials, Fuji copiers.
• Excellent communication skills with good written, verbal skills & time management. Ability to multitask and meet deadlines. You can show initiative and work unsupervised to get jobs done absolutely right. You need to have initiative and foresee when things need to be done.
Strong design & layout skills with an eye for detail and strong creative conceptual skills.
• You really enjoy working with your hands, with machines and with technology.
Computer literacy and knowledge of scheduling and basic office software, Excellent knowledge of Creative Suite, ability to learn things quickly.
Great team player attitude, reliable, hardworking and trustworthy and are ready to take a job seriously.
