Graphic Designer
Part time, 15 hours per week, fixed term for 12 months

Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA) is the nation’s leading voice on exercise and sports science. We govern and represent approximately 10,000 degree-qualified accredited exercise professionals who support Australians to reach their health and performance goals.

About your role
You will work with all ESSA business units to manage the graphic design of ESSA assets across digital and print channels to support projects, events, campaigns and internal activities.
You will support the overall objectives of the ESSA Marketing & Communications team to grow the brand and awareness of our health professional members through the content you create.
Your key stakeholders are business leaders, other ESSA employees, grant bodies, sponsors and ESSA members, partners, suppliers and advertisers.
Your competitive edge will include
Tertiary qualification in graphic design, or other relevant discipline.
At least three years of professional experience in graphic design or similar
Demonstrated skills in Adobe Creative Suite – Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere Pro and After Effects
Strong understanding of design formats and trends for platforms like TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and website.
Experience in basic animation including gif and HTML5 animation highly regarded
UX/UI experience in websites/app development highly regarded
Exceptional copywriting skills and attention to detail
Exceptional graphic design skills and good eye for aesthetic and balance
Exceptional storytelling and creative skills, with a portfolio showcasing your expertise.
Strong storytelling skills with a keen eye for detail and composition.
Demonstrated experience developing assets for digital and print channels including web, social and marketing collateral
Strong organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Expertise in graphic design and a solid understanding of digital design channels and trends along with the capability to produce timely designs for both digital and print assets.
Previous experience using Monday Work Management or similar (desirable).
Experience in website design including user experience (desirable)
