About Reach to Teach

Reach to Teach is a social impact organisation that partners with State Education Departments to enhance systemic frameworks, thereby improving learning outcomes and fostering grade-appropriate learning for children in Government schools. Our aim is to provide end-to-end solutioning in a low resource environment by the imaginative use of locally available resources and leveraging the existing cultural context by integrating activity-based and experiential elements.

Aligned with the National Education Policy 2020 and United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 4 (Quality Education), 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), our initiatives contribute directly to national and global learning missions.

Established in 2007, Reach to Teach has expanded its activities from working at the community and school level in rural areas of Gujarat to partnering with State Education Departments of Gujarat, Haryana, Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya on various initiatives aimed at the overall objective of strengthening the quality of education.

Job Purpose

The key purpose of this job is to develop/convert concepts and ideas into visual representations, in both print and electronic media. As a Graphic Designer, you will be responsible for creating visually appealing and effective designs that communicates our brand message, service offerings and products and programmatic interventions. The individual will be responsible for leading the creative vision and design strategy independently, ensuring highest standard of visual excellence. This role requires a blend of artistic talent, self-starter, strategic thinking and working independently.

The ideal candidate should have a strong passion for design and a keen eye for detail, with experience working across multiple channels such as website, social media, marketing, branding guidelines, collaterals etc. This role will collaborate closely within the Communications team and HR, programme and funding team to create visually appealing and effective designs that resonate with our stakeholders.

Reporting to: Director, Communications

Key Responsibilities
• Develop and execute creative concepts and design strategies for various channels, including marketing and communication collaterals, branding, advertising, digital media, and print materials.
• Design compelling graphics for social media platforms, ensuring consistency with our brand identity and tone (when required)
• Develop communication branding collaterals including corporate brochures, newsletters, annual reports and infographics.
• Work independently on developing wide range of collaterals, presentations and reports for funding and programme team.
• Develop design including illustrations for books used in schools keeping the local cultural context.
• Strategize and update brand identity elements, including typography, and color schemes.
• Able to make video edits (stitching and adding supers and background music)
• Support photography and videography efforts by providing art direction and creative inputs for documentation and dissemination purpose.
• Proofread collaterals while designing and suggest required amends to respective teams.
• Ensure all visual materials adhere to brand standards and maintain consistency across all platforms.
• Collaborate and work independently with cross-functional teams including HR, programme and funding team to understand their requirements ensuring cohesive and effective visual communication.
• Manage and collaborate with external designers and other creative professionals on board providing inputs, feedback and support to ensure quality outputs.
• Present creative ideas and concepts articulating the rationale behind design decisions.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards.
• Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continually enhance our creative approach.
• Obtain input and feedback from Line Manager to ensure designs meet organisational standards and brand expectations and express ideas accurately.
• Examine existing processes and create solutions that improve design capabilities.
• Update and maintain internal repository on a timely basis.
• Translate strategic direction into high-quality design within an established brand identity.
• Promote and embody Reach to Teach’s culture of openness, innovation, involvement, teamwork and performance.
• Maintain the highest standards of personal and professional integrity and be a role model for Reach to Teach values and behaviours.

Experience
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in graphic design, art, or related discipline.
• Five or more years of experience in professional graphic design, preferably with a creative, advertising agency or corporates.
• Proficient Experience (academic and professional) with design software’s, including Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Dreamweaver.
• Excellent understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and layout.
• Exceptional creativity , communication, presentation and innovative design skills.
• Organisational and time-management skills for meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of and basic content management systems.
• Photography experience and proficiency with photo-editing software.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment with cross functional teams and support and guide external designers on board.
• Strong portfolio showcasing a range of design work.
