About the role

We’re seeking a Graphic Designer & Marketing Associate to elevate content & design across the entire company spanning web, socials, print and packaging. We’d like someone that can think strategically and really align creative output with what resonates emotionally with customers. Although a design specialist, you'll also wear multiple hats to support the marketing team across content, copywriting, and campaign strategy as required. We're a small team and everyone gets to support across different areas within the business.

We’re on the cusp of a consumption revolution, and the way people shop & consume cleaning & personal care products is set to radically change over the course of the next few years. Plastic bottles are out, and plastic-free is in.

At Skipper, we’re aiming to build the strongest brand in our category, and become a household name. We already have the early traction and category leadership as strong foundations for our lofty goals.

We’re looking for a Graphic Designer that is ambitious, and willing to put their creativity and technical excellence to the test in a high-impact role. You will be working with the Founders and E-Commerce Manager initially, with a Marketing Manager to follow imminently. Over the next 12 months we expect more talented Skippers to join the marketing team.

So what will you be doing exactly? You can expect the role to cover:

Create Visual Assets: Design high-impact graphical media for digital and print, including social media, website, email campaigns, and packaging, ensuring all content aligns with Skipper’s brand guidelines.

Support Content Creation: Assist our Marketing Associate in filming and capturing social content both in-house and externally. You will be encouraged to represent the brand on camera amongst our other marketing colleagues if you’re comfortable.

Campaign Concepting: Develop and execute creative design concepts for campaigns, working with the Marketing Manager and Founders to bring inspiring ideas to life.

Social Media Design: Craft platform-optimised, visually appealing paid & organic content for social media, maintaining a cohesive and engaging brand presence.

Capability Building & Learning: Stay at the forefront of media technology and help Skipper stay ahead of the curve with AI and other new-age media tools. The role, skills and technologies used by a graphic designer are shifting rapidly and we want to stay ahead of these changes.

Marketing Support: Assist the team beyond graphic design by being a creative strategist and sparring partner within the marketing team.

This full-time role will be based at our HQ in Eagle Farm, Brisbane (only 10kms from the CBD).

Here’s what you can expect to be working on in the first few weeks:

Elevate our email direct marketing (EDM) with new design templates and start putting them into practice in our weekly comms

Create the visual campaign theme for a new product launch campaign to drop in Q1 2025

Work with Founders to develop new product collateral and flyers across our suite

Create a suite of still assets for paid media across Facebook, Instagram and Google

Helping the team film exciting content in the warehouse and beyond

You’ll succeed in this role if you:

Think Creatively & Emotionally: You’re not just a graphic design pro; you think strategically and have high emotional intelligence to push the boundaries of how we communicate visually.

Are Proficient in Adobe Suite: You are skilled in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, with a strong technical foundation in media for web, email, and print.

Have an Eye for Aesthetics: You’re meticulous when it comes to layout, typography, and color, ensuring every design gives that “feel-good” feeling at first glance.

Naturally Embrace Learning: You’re curious and eager to learn new skills, embrace change, and step out of your comfort zone.

Have a Strategic Mindset: You think about the bigger picture, ensuring that your designs support Skipper’s goals and resonate with the target audience.
