We are looking for an Intermediate Graphic Designer to join our team full-time.
You are a visual wizard and storyteller who can take inspiration from written content and handwritten designs to create beautiful, easy-to-follow designs that inspire, entertain, and educate our audience. You are bold and take a visionary approach to your designs.
You aren't afraid to push the envelope, be edgy, and take calculated risks.
As a Graphic Designer at TechBlocks, you will have an opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects and mediums, including assets for web and email, print and digital brochures, case studies and testimonials, and depending on your skill set – motion graphics, animations, and more.
The successful candidate will have great attention to detail, strong time management skills, and can operate independently to design and develop impactful visual assets for sales, marketing, human resources, corporate communications, and other channels as necessary.
You will work closely with our Senior Creative Lead and UX/UI developers to create amazing experiences for our audience.
Responsibilities
Monitor and manage brand standards across channels to ensure consistency.
Applying expert art direction to the visual elements of creative projects.
Create graphics and vector illustrations as needed.
Build and manage a library of PowerPoint assets for sales and client presentations.
Manage and maintain an asset library of templates, design elements, images, working files, and final outputs.
Design advertisements for recruitment, brand awareness, and ad campaigns across digital channels, including LinkedIn, Facebook, Google, and YouTube.
Design print collateral, such as whitepapers, case studies, and tradeshow materials.
Design digital assets like social media graphics, blog posts, and website content.
Continuously learn about trends and best practices in graphic design.
Study design briefs and conceptualize visuals based on requirements.
Conduct tests of designs across mediums and analyze the results with the marketing team's help.
Ensure designs are ADA, AODA, and WCAG 2.0 AA+ compliant.
Ensure a high standard of execution across all campaigns.
Technical Skills & Education
You have a degree in Fine Arts/Graphic Design; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
You have a minimum of 3-5 years of graphic design experience.
A strong knowledge of typography, image manipulation, and illustration.
A strong understanding of design best practices for social media, print, PowerPoint, web, and other common channels and standard design sizes, formats, and execution.
Ability to visualize and create compelling composite imagery.
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.
Experience with mockup tools like Figma and Adobe XD is considered an asset.
You are a storyteller who can explain your thinking to gain buy-in from stakeholders.
You work well under pressure and can pivot quickly as needed.
You have superior attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
You can take constructive feedback and criticism to help shape and improve your designs.
A flexible approach and willingness to adapt your ideas to the needs of consumers and the brand.
Comfortable working in a Windows-based environment.
Fluent in English.
Nice to Have Skills
Video editing skills in Adobe Premiere or similar video production suites
Animation in Adobe Affect Effect or similar software
Basic understanding of web design best practices
Basic understanding of email design best practices
