Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Grocery Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service while ensuring the grocery department runs smoothly. You will assist customers with their shopping needs, maintain product displays, and support the overall operations of the store.
Duties
At the beginning of the shift, dispose of all boxes and trash to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Verify cash balance and lottery inventory with the previous shift employee during shift handover.
Provide friendly and professional customer service while operating the cashier.
Assist with unloading deliveries and stocking merchandise promptly when the owner receives product shipments.
Organize and restock the walk-in cooler daily, beginning approximately 30 minutes before the end of the shift.
Maintain store cleanliness by performing regular cleaning duties throughout the shift.
Experience
Previous experience in a grocery store or retail environment is preferred but not required.
Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems is advantageous.
Strong phone etiquette for handling customer inquiries over the phone.
Ability to demonstrate products effectively to enhance sales opportunities.
