To continue delivering on this commitment, we’re looking for a dedicated Grounds Workers on a fixed term basis to join our Waikato Villages team for 6 months!
About the role:
The Grounds Worker role is for a versatile and skilled professionals who can handle a wide range of tasks. From planting to weed eating, and grounds improvement our Grounds Workers do it all! Here's a glimpse of what your day-to-day activities might include:
Maintaining both soft and hard landscaping areas
Pruning, planting, flax cutting and general garden care
Hedge trimming, weed eating and edging
Spraying herbicides and manually removing/picking of weeds and pest plants
Turfing, topdressing and installing landscape features
What Are We Looking For?
While practical experience in horticulture is ideal, it's not a must. If you have a great work ethic and a passion for working outdoors, you could be the perfect fit! Here are some qualities we value:
A current, full Class 1 driver’s licence with the ability to drive a manual vehicle
A good level of fitness, as the role can be physically demanding, being on your feet throughout the day
A team player with a positive attitude who naturally helps out teammates
Excellent relationship-building and communication skills with your team, residents and the client
High motivation and a strong desire to get the job done safely and on-time
The ability to use a smartphone and other technology is advantageous
