Group Financial Accountant
This is a key role ensuring successful delivery of all financial reporting and preparation of statutory accounts for the charity and its subsidiaries which will involve;
✔ Embed the organisational values of Respect, Honesty, Responsibility and Achieving Excellence in everything you do
✔ Manage and develop two assistant accountants
✔ Implement and maintain robust financial controls
✔ Prepare financial reports, including monthly, quarterly and annual reports for internal and external stakeholders
✔ Prepare and maintain the group's consolidated financial statements
✔ Produce the quarterly VAT returns and provide an internal source of VAT expertise
✔ Review the balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis
✔ Support the annual audit and financial year-end process including preparation of disclosure notes and supporting schedules
✔ Ensure compliance with charity accounting legislation, general accounting legislation and applicable company and charity law
✔ Commitment to ensuring a responsive and genuine engagement with internal and external stakeholders
✔ Drive improvements in financial systems, processes, and reporting capabilities
✔ Collaborate with the wider finance team to help in its day-to-day running of the finance function
✔ Participate in financial and financial systems projects as appropriate
What were looking for
✔ Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA) with 3 years+ PQE
✔ Strong technical background
✔ Experience managing a team
✔ Strong verbal and written communication skills
✔ Strong numerical and Excel skills
✔ NetSuite or similar ERP system experience
✔ Proven experience in financial reporting, compliance, and statutory accounts preparation
✔ Experience in a similar role in a charity or social care organisation
✔ Able to appreciate the need for confidentiality and discretion
