Job Description
The Group General Manager – Hotels is responsible for the overall strategic direction, operational excellence, and financial performance of a portfolio of hotels within the group. This role ensures that each property achieves its revenue, profitability, guest satisfaction, and brand standards while fostering a culture of service excellence and continuous improvement.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership
Develop and implement the group’s short- and long-term business strategies for all hotels.
Align hotel operations with the company’s vision, mission, and growth objectives.
Identify new market opportunities, partnerships, and expansion prospects.
Lead rebranding, renovation, or pre-opening initiatives as required.
Operational Management
Oversee day-to-day operations across all hotels to ensure consistent quality and efficiency.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, GOP, and guest satisfaction.
Ensure compliance with company policies, brand standards, and legal requirements.
Drive best practices in operational systems, service standards, and sustainability initiatives.
Financial Performance
Prepare and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and business plans for all properties.
Review and analyze financial statements to maximize profitability and cost control.
Implement strategies to optimize revenue generation and yield management.
Approve capital expenditures and major operational investments.
People Leadership
Recruit, mentor, and develop General Managers and senior property leaders.
Promote a performance-driven culture emphasizing accountability, teamwork, and innovation.
Conduct regular leadership reviews and succession planning.
Champion diversity, inclusion, and employee engagement initiatives.
Guest Experience & Brand Management
Ensure superior guest satisfaction and loyalty across all hotels.
Maintain consistent brand identity, service culture, and quality standards.
Monitor guest feedback, online reputation, and implement improvement actions.
Foster innovation in guest services, technology, and product offerings.
Stakeholder & Owner Relations
Serve as the primary liaison between hotel ownership, management, and external partners.
Provide regular performance updates and strategic insights to the Board/Investors.
Negotiate management contracts, vendor agreements, and strategic partnerships.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field.
10–15+ years of progressive experience in hotel management, with at least 5 years in a multi-property or regional leadership role.
Proven track record of delivering financial growth and operational excellence.
Strong understanding of hotel finance, marketing, revenue management, and F&B operations.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience with both owned and managed properties is preferred.
