About the role
As a group insurance analyst, you will provide a wide range of support services to brokers and insurers while contributing to the continuous improvement of our internal operations.
Applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents with full working rights.
Reporting to a team leader who will provide support and oversight, you will be the primary contact for brokers and the insurers for the general administration of a portfolio of the insurer's policies. This role will expose you to stimulating work that will challenge you and hone your analytical and problem-solving skills.
At the beginning of your journey at AGI you will be paired with a mentor who will train you in all aspects of the role. They will support the development of your skills, enabling you to work independently and achieve the highest levels of competency.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
applying actuarial knowledge to prepare group insurance reviews and reports as required by local authorities on behalf of our clients and external audits
handling premium estimation and preparing quotes for corporate clients; assisting clients with their insurance expense projections
assessing and analysing risk in relation to insurance products using actuarial assessment under guidelines and delegated authority by the insurers
analysing and investigating data, including review and evaluation of data integrity and data sources, and implementing processes and procedures to improve data quality for valuation and reporting purposes
liaising with advisers and brokers to address queries related to premium calculations, data collection, pricing, and policy structures
improving the business process efficiency and compliance continuously, involving making suggestions for process enhancement, analysing business logic, implementing processes, adapting current processes to new requirements, and performing UAT
assisting leadership in facilitating business decision-making in situations where actuarial technical problems are related.

Additionally, you will have:
very strong numeracy skills with exceptionally high attention to detail
high familiarity with Microsoft Excel
intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel including advanced formulas and data analysis functions
fluency in English, especially the ability to write to a professional standard
the ability to apply knowledge to solve problems and mitigate issues
good time management
Desirable but not essential:
relevant experience in similar fields of work or strong academic results in actuarial science, accounting, business, IT, engineering, or mathematics (bachelor's degree or higher).
