Group Scrum Master

💰 $3,360 - $5,376 (Est.) 📍 Melbourne

Job Description

Are you looking for an awesome place to work, where you can proudly be your authentic self, and be part of #oneteam?

We are looking for a passionate team player who aligns with our values and culture, takes pride in their unique contributions, and can challenge the status quo with disruptive thinking. If this sounds like you, come and join us!

The Opportunity
Join us in our Melbourne office as we’re looking for a Group Scrum Master (GSM) to play a pivotal role in driving delivery excellence across our Accelerate system of work.
In this role, you’ll orchestrate quarterly PI (Product Increment) planning and execution across multiple Software Engineering and Mission Teams. You’ll facilitate key Agile/SAFe ceremonies, coach the Release Train, and ensure that value flows seamlessly from planning to delivery.
Your work will be central to removing impediments, managing risk, and supporting continuous improvement across the group. Beyond PI delivery, you’ll use your deep knowledge of Iterative, Agile, Lean, and SAFe practices to uplift maturity, refine our system of work, and contribute directly to broader Vocus delivery strategy alongside the Head of Delivery.
What you’ll be doing
Lead and run group level ceremonies coordinating the work of 4 Mission Teams and 8 Software Engineering Teams, including PI Planning, PI Showcases, Scrum of Scrums, and group retrospectives.
Provide clear insight into PI delivery progress, proactively surfacing blockers and resolving or escalating as needed.
Own group level risk management, partnering with risk owners to ensure timely mitigation.
Manage and coach a team of Scrum Masters, ensuring they deeply understand and effectively facilitate the Accelerate system of work.
Coach and support roles across the Accelerate environment to ensure alignment and consistent ways of working across Missions and Engineering.
Act as a champion and custodian of the Vocus Accelerate system of work.
Drive continuous improvement by leveraging performance metrics, retrospectives, forums, and other feedback mechanisms to identify and deliver improvements.
What you’ll bring
5+ years experience as a Group Scrum Master or Release Train Engineer, and 5+ years as a Scrum Master in complex, fast paced environments.
Experience contributing to or leading organisational ways of working transformations (Agile, SAFe, Lean Portfolio Management, etc.).
Background as an Agile Program Level or Multi Team Coach (highly desirable).
A pragmatic, outcomes focused approach to delivery and improvement.
Relevant Agile/Scrum/Coaching certifications (ICAgile, SAFe, Scrum).
Exceptional communication skills—verbal, written, and interpersonal.
Ability to drive consistency in standards and processes, and surface efficiencies across teams.
Strong relationship building capability and the ability to influence across a broad stakeholder group.
Proven ability to meet commitments within agreed timeframes.
Strong leadership presence and the ability to manage conflict and negotiate outcomes.
Advanced Jira proficiency, including managing PI plans with Advanced Roadmaps.
Advanced Confluence skills, including able to provide views of Jira data in Confluence
