Guest Services Agent – Holiday Inn Express & Suites Saskatoon Centre

The Guest Service Agent will be responsible for welcoming our guests and verifying all information during the check-in/check-out process. In this role, accuracy and accountability are key. This is the ideal position for someone who shines in guest service, has excellent attention to detail, is skilled in problem resolution, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate should be focused on providing professional service and creating a memorable stay through personalized guest experiences. Job Requirements:

Welcome guests in a friendly, prompt and professional manner, recognizing Marriott Bonvoy Members as well as returning guests
Maintain an inventory of vacancies, reservations and room assignments
Check guests in, issue room keys, provide information on hotel services and room location
Ensure all customers establish credit upon check-in.
Promote and acknowledge guest participation in Marriott Bonvoy Rewards and provide benefits to all members
Answer enquiries regarding hotel services and registration by letter, by telephone and in person, provide information about services available in the community
Compile and check daily record sheets, guest accounts, receipts and vouchers using computerized or manual systems
Routinely book guest reservations for individuals and/or groups
Answer phones in a prompt and courteous manner
Present statements of charges to departing guests and receive payment
Take, cancel and change room reservations
Provide information on hotel facilities and services
Provide general information about points of interest in the area
Take action to investigate and resolve guest problems, complaints, and claims using appropriate service recovery guidelines
Balance cash and complete balance sheets, cash reports and related forms
Follow emergency and safety procedures
Clerical duties (i.e. faxing, filing, photocopying)
Answer, record and process all guest calls, messages, requests, questions or concerns
Accommodating general and unique guest requests
Handle wake-up calls
Work as part of a team and communicate with other departments as per hotel procedures to ensure excellent quality and service
Perform other duties as assigned including guest room tours, concierge services, special guest requests, etc.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

High school diploma
Computer literacy, math skills, and knowledge of word processing software
Guest / customer service experience

Preferred Skills:

Excellent interpersonal skills
Strong organizational skills and ability to identify errors in records
Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively
Ability to multitask
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Good time management and organizational skills
Conflict resolution skills
Patience and good listening skills
Proven experience as a Guest Service Agent or in a similar role, preferably in the hospitality industry is considered an asset
Certificate or diploma in hospitality is considered an asset
