Job Role: Hardware Architect
The role of the Hardware Architect is to design the overall hardware architecture for 2W cluster products, ensuring they meet business requirements while being cost-sensitive.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Study market trends and identify appealing features for the competitive 2W Cluster market.
• Develop a hardware architecture roadmap for 2W cluster products, incorporating innovation in design to achieve tight cost and quality targets.
• Collaborate with the Sales team and Customer to convert business enquiries into business wins, serving as a technology enabler.
• Review and approve designs at each quality check gate during hardware development, ensuring the product meets intended cost and quality standards.
• Work closely with the engineering team to resolve inter-competency issues, maintaining program timelines and compliance with requirements and quality standards.
• Drive continuous skill upgrades among hardware engineers, anticipating upcoming technical challenges.
• Manage escalated risks and issues impacting hardware development project timing, cost, and quality by participating in technical discussions with customers as needed.
• Ensure necessary stakeholder involvement in successful hardware project delivery.
• Guide Reviews of hardware quote responses for the PD Quote Leader.
• Interact with teams in different regions to achieve consensus and ensure productive outcomes.
Desired Competencies:
• Deep knowledge of embedded electronics product architectures and scalable systems design approaches.
• Well-versed in design practices to achieve demanding cost and reliability targets.
• Knowledge of Mobility, Connectivity, Display, Driver Information trends.
• Experience with 2W Electrification products.
• Good appreciation of requirements and their impact on product cost and quality.
• Understanding of EMC requirements and building reliable products for the automotive domain.
• Appreciation for DFM, DFT, DFMEA, Built-in-quality.
• Able to guide the team in delivering successful product development with optimized resource utilization.
• Strong skills in Change Management, Strategic Planning, Business Acumen, Decision Making, Influencing others, Good listening skills, and Cross-cultural communications and presentation.
