Job Description
Head Credit Underwriting -Agri responsibility is to oversee the underwriting of Direct Agri and Allied Agri loans covering B2C (individual loans) and B2B non-individual / corporate (B2B) loans in the form of templated products like KCC (individual loans to farmers) and other working capital, term loan facilities, commodity funding, MSME sector etc (non-individual loans).
Awareness of industry best practices w.r.t credit underwriting norms of the above loans is important. Apart from the analysis of financial statements to highlight and mitigate credit risk in proposals, formulating / providing inputs to product design, credit policy pertaining to Agri and allied sectors, and commodity funding is important.
Role play will also include credit team management, customer interaction / personal discussions, knowledge of the local agri markets, knowledge of key B2C, B2B products, warehouse financing etc
• Compliance with the Bank’s policy, process and product
• To ensure and maintain credit TAT.
• To ensure the productivity of the team as defined by organization
• Regular interaction with Customers, peers and other stakeholders
• Monitoring Asset quality - To minimize Quick Morality, early risk and NPA slippages,
• Identification of vulnerable accounts - act on Early warning signals (EWS) in the account with timely resolution / actions
• To minimize the Audit queries and close them in the stipulated time
• To closely monitor the portfolio on housekeeping items like review / renewal, security creation etc
• To take Initiative for any process, credit policy-related improvement
• To provide market intelligence reports to senior management
• Vendor Management
• Training / Learning & Development of team members
Education : Chartered Accountant / ICWA / MBA (Finance / Agri)
Experience : Minimum 18 years of relevant experience with leading private-sector Banks
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES :
• Proven track w.r.t handling of the underwriting of Agri / allied sector (B2C, B2B), Commodity funding, MSME working capital (Fund based / Non-fund based) and term loan proposals with individual sanctioning powers
• Knowledge of RBI policy for lending to the PSL sector
• Capability of providing relevant and pertinent inputs on the credit policy of the bank
• Experience in handling internal and external audit
• Hands-on experience in Team handling of Agri credit officers at the National level / Regional level
• Analytical and presentation skills
