Job Description
We are looking for a dynamic and competent Heald of Engineering with Strategic and tactical responsibility for implementing engineering strategy and strategic operational goals to exceed customer expectations for product development, quality, cost and delivery, maximising efficiency, optimising and driving engineering excellence. Work closely with internal and external key stakeholders, customer service, manufacturing, sales and customers regarding technical support of their activities. Responsible for all areas of the Engineering function and quality of service delivery, striving for best-in-class products and business practices to deliver to the customer's expectations, managing teams and projects across the business. Provide clear leadership and vision, inspire and motivate staff to achieve excellence and mentor them as they develop new skills. Drive Key Performance Indicators across all areas of the Engineering function to ensure that all projects are delivered on cost and on time to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities :
- Overall responsibility for Engineering activities across the business.
- Create and implement best practice engineering vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to aid and improve business performance.
- Ensure that engineering strategies and processes are in place to meet business objectives and operational needs in terms of price, quality, and delivery targets and which enables the company to function and compete effectively in the market.
- Evaluate the challenges faced by the business and take action to mitigate risks and develop opportunities.
- Contribute to overall business strategy and annual budget process.
- Take ownership of the engineering policy, guidelines, and any associated documents.
- Initiate and develop creative and innovative engineering processes.
- Report on Engineering activities on a regular basis to the Senior Management team, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of the relevant Key Performance Indicators.
- They are required to oversee both front as well as back-end development teams and their projects.
- The director has to monitor the reliability and performance of all internal systems to suggest an improvement.
- They have to ensure compliance with security regulations.
- Software development projects are to be managed by way of setting goals, timelines, and specific requirements.
- Preparation and managing the engineering department's budget.
- Based on the company's overall objectives and resources, the director has to develop strategies for future projects.
- Employment of innovative technologies.
- Coordination with external stakeholders for new integrations and tools.
- Review and update company's policies relevant to internal systems and equipment.
Requirements :
- Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Management, Statistics or related field.
- 15+ years of experience managing web and mobile products with a background in technical engineering.
- Prior experience in SAAS healthcare domain is a plus.
- Comfortable communicating and taking responsibility for all engineering decisions and projects whilst managing stakeholders at C Suite level.
- Ensures all engineering projects, initiatives, and processes work towards our commercial goals.
- Deep experience in bringing innovative new products to the market from scratch, ideally working with R&D teams and intrapreneurship in greenfield areas or start-up and growth level companies.
- 10+ years of experience in developing and implementing the technical strategy to efficiently achieve business goals and attract top talent.
- 10+ years in engineering management with a focus on developing and growing the engineering team and leaders.
- Able to work with a broad range of technical areas and leverage skill-sets within and across teams.
- Worked closely with Product leaders and Design leaders to build products with a balance of user experience and cost.
