Head - Finance Controller - Financial Services
Our client, a global banking leader, is actively seeking an experienced individual as Finance controller to co-ordinate and work closely with their FP&A team and manage their line of business. This role will be responsible for designing, building, and managing outcomes that will provide transparency to the business on balance sheet and P&L in a way that allows the CFOs to have a clear line of sight on risks and issues within their financials.
Some of the key responsibilities will include :
- Develop a business view to the controllership function within the firm
- Manage, deliver, and govern business controller related reporting and analytics requirements
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, US GAAP, and other relevant accounting standards.
- Collaborate closely with the accounting teams in helping drive greater control of entries that impact business performance outcomes.
- Work closely with the data management team to define GL standards and accounting treatments to help balance control and performance reporting requirements
- Analyze financial data and provide strategic recommendations to senior management.
- Drive process improvements and efficiency initiatives across the finance function.
To be eligible for this role you will require :
- CA or CFA or equivalent qualification is required.
- 15+ years' work experience in managing a business aligned controller function
- Should have strong experience in implementation of strategic changes as well as knowledge of core accounting guidelines, IFRS etc.
- Good eye for detail and with a strong focus on controls and compliance to policies and procedures
- Demonstrated experience of influencing decisions at senior leadership level. Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to work with cross cultural teams.
- Experience of working in a global organisation in a matrix environment.
