I am responsible for building a culture of good conduct.
Strategy
• Oversee the model life-cycle governance for CPBB risk models.
• Responsible for setting up sustainable and fit-for-purpose governance for on-going model development, implementation, intervention and remediation
• Create Model Monitoring CoE and centreline model monitoring for various models and scorecards activities under one team
• Drive effective and efficient model monitoring and delivery management process
• Participate to broader strategic agenda related to model risk management
• Wherever possible and not prohibited due to data or other regulatory considerations
Risk Management Process Support
Model Delivery Management
• Responsible for governance of the model lifecycle management for CPBB Credit Risk. This would governance around model development identification, model development initiation and delivery tracking, implementation, monitoring, intervention re-development and decommission.
• Oversee the model identification and initiation process. Help onboard model/version in GAME and obtain approved ToR for model development.
• Project manage the model development process including scheduling ongoing tollgate meetings, Updating GAME & ensuring compliance, facilitate discussion to obtain consensus wherever required and outline/report assumptions and limitation in the process.
• Help coordinate model validation and provide support wherever required including tracking to the timeline.
• Help coordinate closure of issues identified during model life cycle (development, implementation, validation or monitoring). This could be from GMV, DMA, MRM, CMAC, MRC, GIA or external auditors (EY).
• Track for internal or regulatory approval where applicable for developed model. Manage GAME inventory update across various points of model life cycle.
• Coordinate to facilitate notification any PRA notification that is required. This includes drafting PRA notifications (Model Pre/Post notification), obtaining necessary approval and submission to reg liaison team for PRA submission.
• Coordinate model implementation process. This includes release timeline for BCRS, SPLICE, S-SPLICE and various scorecard systems. Ensure adherence to standards & updating evidence/status in GAME.
• Where required, manage the model decommission process
• Regularly work with MRPG to update/clarify model risk policies & standards. Advocate policy changes based on stakeholders input and on the job experience.
• Lead delivery of strategic enhancements to model delivery for ERA (e.g. MAP or any other new tools and processes).
• Support in the onboarding of external resources for ERA. Prepare capacity estimate for managing people plan of both modellers and validators
Model Monitoring
• Responsible for setting up the Group Standard for model monitoring and its roll out to markets and hub. Process owner delegate for the model monitoring process and responsible to set adequate control framework to ensure that underlying applicable risks are managed within the allowed threshold. Ensure timely and robust implementation of controls across various teams/function involved in the model monitoring process.
• Generation of quarterly monitoring reports for IFRS+ (sophisticated/roll rate/loss rate) and IRB (PRA and MAS models
• Coordinate with CPBB model development team for assessment of quarterly IFRS+ PMA's and calculation of IRB PMA's where applicable. Engage with GMV for validation of new IRB PMA's. Manage the implementation of IRB PMA's in BCRS including UAT
• Review of quarterly monitoring reports of entire suite of models Model Owners and other key stakeholder and present the results to CMAC or any other relevant committee. For IFRS+, additional monitoring of SICR is part of this process.
• Review the model monitoring results provided by other risk team and perform review and challenge and confirm the adherence of compliance to Group standard and Model Risk policy

• Define an organisation structure aligned and scaled to the risk control needs of the Function, balancing Group & local requirements as necessary
• Set and monitor job descriptions and objectives for direct reports and provide feedback and rewards in line with their performance against those responsibilities and objectives

• Ensuring that the necessary trainings (on-the-job or classroom) are conducted to the team and provide required job knowledge.

• Ensure effective controls and assurance for the process involved the model monitoring and delivery and ensure risks of processing failure are being actively controlled end-to-end
• Actively participate in committees and management group meetings wherever required.
• Embed the group's values and code of conduct, as it relates to the role remit, to ensure that adherence with the highest standards of ethics, and compliance with relevant policies, processes and regulations among employees form part of the culture.
• Engage with relevant audit report findings and ensure feedback is acted upon.
• Maintain acceptable level of understanding and risk capabilities of Operational Risk Framework to maintain the Risk profile of processes.

Qualification
• More than 15 years of functional risk experience in the areas of model risk. Functional knowledge of Consumer Private or Business Banking Credit Risk is an advantage.
• Appropriate academic/formal accreditation and/or experience in statistics, econometrics, Actuarial Science or Economics; Bachelor's university degree is must, and a post-graduate degree is desired.
• Good knowledge and grasp of banking practice, Consumer and business banking lending products and awareness of the regulatory frameworks by home and host regulators.
• Expert knowledge of model risk management including for capital and impairments.
• Exposure to Bank's Enterprise-wise Risk Management Framework (ERMF) and overall governance philosophy.
• Good understanding on data structure and the information flow for the risk function.
• A fair understanding of the innovations in banking & emerging technologies
• Strong project management understanding and experience of running medium scale multi-year projects
• strong problem resolution skillset demonstrated in complex delivery projects
• Analytical and dispute resolution skills. Ability to make independent decisions with a strong sense of empowerment and leadership skills working in open ended situations;
• Ability to work with large network teams into changing & challenging situations;
