About the Role
The Head of Asset Data & Systems provides leadership and technical expertise to a team of Asset Specialists to deliver best‑practice asset management across Council. Working closely with the Manager Assets and Traffic, the role leads the development, review, and advancement of Council’s Strategic Asset Management Framework and asset management maturity. This includes driving the development and ongoing enhancement of Council’s Asset Management System, ensuring asset data, systems, and corporate applications support accurate administration, reporting, and long‑term planning for infrastructure assets.
The position plays a key role in asset governance, financial management, and decision‑making by leading asset valuations and revaluations, supporting asset‑related financial policies, and providing high‑quality advice, analysis, and reporting to stakeholders. The role oversees asset data capture, condition assessment, compliance, and risk management, while also managing project governance, tenders, and consultant engagement in line with Council procedures. Through strong stakeholder engagement and cross‑unit collaboration, the Head of Asset Data & Systems contributes to Council’s strategic planning processes and ensures asset information and systems enable informed, transparent, and sustainable outcomes for the organisation and community.
What We Offer
Permanent, Full-Time role – 70 hours per fortnight
Salary from $137,358.18 - $159,150.21 per annum plus 12% superannuation
9-day fortnight subject to operational requirements

What We Are Looking For
Tertiary qualifications in civil engineering, project management or equivalent experience in a related field
Demonstrated ability to motivate, support and mentor team members whilst maintaining a customer focused culture
Extensive asset management experience
Excellent communication negotiation and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated experience with forward works programming, financial control, and budget preparation
Knowledge of latest trends and techniques in the management of natural and built assets
