Job description
Android Developer Contract – 4 days on-site in Los Angeles
This is a hands-on engineering position developing mobile applications for the company inside the Android Ecosystem in Java/Kotlin. In this role, you will work with a cross-functional team of Product Managers, Designers, Mobile/Web/Backend Engineers, and Content Creators to conceptualize and develop world-class Company apps. Based on your experience, you will apply technical expertise to manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables and will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions. You will architect reusable solutions that are shared across all Company Technology apps. You may lead others to solve complex problems and provide oversight and direction to other software engineers.
Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:
80% of your Time:
● Contributing to a project or feature development
○ Using best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products or services.
○ Writing efficient, reliable, and maintainable code whether implementing architectural improvements, user-facing features, or fixing defects.
○ Building solutions for problems of sizeable scope and complexity that will be successfully deployed to customers/users.
○ Influencing and driving software engineering best practices within the team.
○ Analyzing and optimizing application code for efficiency, reliability and performance.
○ Managing multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
○ Operating as a resource to less experienced Software Engineers, providing an open learning environment for cross-team knowledge sharing.

● Collaborating with QA and Automation Team 5%
● Interacting with the Product Development team to review requirements and discuss feature development 15%
Basic Qualifications:
● Up to 4+ years hands-on professional development experience with Android on all OS versions
Preferred Qualifications:
● Solid understanding of OO design patterns and concepts.
● Solid understanding of unit test frameworks and continuous integration systems.
● Solid understanding of architecture, assisting Software Architects as necessary.
● Android app development life cycle including Google Play and Amazon App Store compliance policies and submissions requirements.
● Motivated self-starter with the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies.
● Ability to collaborate in a small, productive development team as well as ability to work independently.
● Work well with minimal technical supervision and supplemental engineering support.
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills; can effectively articulate complex ideas and influence others through well-reasoned explanations
Required Education: BS STEM Degree
