SUMMARY: The Head of Business Banking -- Florida develops, manages and advances the strategic objectives of the Business Banking team
This position is charged with increasing the Commercial Banking loan portfolio through identifying and capturing credit and non-credit opportunities that are consistent with BankUnited's loan policy and have an appropriate loan structure
Other duties and special projects may be assigned
Provides strategic guidance on implementation and execution of team goals
Through leadership, internal partnerships, the implementation of a structured sales process, and individual production contributions, the Managing Director ensures team deposit and loan growth objectives are obtained
Responsible for staffing and talent management of the Sales Team; recruits, hires, trains/on-boards and coaches/develops Commercial/Small Business Bankers
Maintains database of Commercial/Small Business Bankers in the marketplace while conducting active and ongoing recruiting
Fosters a success and results oriented environment that safeguards accountability
Leads, manages, and grows Commercial/Small Business Banking lenders within assigned geographic region
Implements and inspects a structured sales process through:
leading weekly sales meetings
hosting regularly scheduled one-on-ones
inspecting pre-call plan meetings
attending joint calls
coaching opportunities with the sales team
maintaining a team top hundred targeted prospect list
Ensures the full implantation and utilization of the Bank's contact management and sales tracking systems, where applicable
Possesses extensive knowledge and involvement in the team's geographic territory and maintains a leadership level position(s) in the main one or two community organization in the assigned geographic market
Is ultimately responsible for the credit quality of the team's credit portfolio, including overall credit quality, timely annual reviews & renewals of credit facilities, delinquencies in financial reporting, covenant compliance, timely payment collection, etc
Structures profitable commercial lending solutions that best meets individual client needs
Establishes strong client relationships with some of the most complex clients to form deep relationships and retain trust
Meets or exceeds all goals and targets related to the identification, acquisition, and retention of prospective and current clients
Implements and adheres to the structured credit process, conducts regular portfolio management forums with Regional Team Leaders, Producing Team Leaders, Commercial Bankers and Portfolio Managers
Ensures team's compliance with bank and credit policies, procedures, practices, and regulations
Ensures BRIDGES service standards are implemented and adhered to
Consistently engaged in process improvement to contribute to the betterment of the department, division and Bank
Works with Commercial/Small Business Bankers on credit consults with underwriting and credit partners to ensure viable new business opportunities are appropriately internally and externally managed during the solicitation and on boarding process,
Responsible for pricing decisions within bank guidance
Develops of campaigns and promotions
Adheres to and complies with applicable, federal and state laws, regulations and guidance, including those related to anti-money laundering (i.e
Adheres to Bank policies and procedures and completes required training
Identifies and reports suspicious activity

Supervises function, projects or services and/or one or more employees, as applicable
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
