Job Description

The Compliance Officer's primary responsibility will be to have oversight of the organization's compliance and regulatory vertical , to ensure that the organization (and its employees) are following the rules and regulations of regulatory agencies, company policies and procedures and firm-wide standards of conduct.

Functional Expertise
• Compliance Program Management: Develop, maintain, and administer the company's compliance program to ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations in India. Implement cost-effective compliance solutions to enhance organizational compliance.
• Regulatory Navigation: Navigate regulatory complexities to ensure that products offered by the company are fully compliant with legal standards.
• Compliance Policies and Procedures: Establish, implement, and manage compliance policies, procedures, and monitoring mechanisms to ensure effectiveness and efficiency in identifying, preventing, detecting, and correcting non-compliance.
• Third-Party and Regulatory Audits: Oversee and manage third-party examinations and regulatory audits. Ensure accurate and timely completion of information requests from regulators.
• Product Compliance: Ensure product compliance with relevant regulations, particularly dealing with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
• Compliance Training Programs: Develop and oversee compliance training programs for management and employees.
• Compliance Manual Maintenance: Maintain the Compliance Manual and update management on changes in the regulatory environment.
• Policy Implementation: Implement and manage various policies including code of conduct, whistleblower/vigil mechanism, insider trading, CSR, and anti-bribery policies.

Problem Solving
• Risk and Compliance Assessment: Proactively assess and prioritize risk and compliance issues within the organization. Develop and implement strategies to address these issues effectively.
• Regulatory Complexity Resolution: Address and resolve ambiguities and complexities in regulatory requirements to ensure compliance in product development and other organizational functions.
• Guidance on Emerging Issues: Provide advice and insight into new and emerging compliance issues, helping the company establish controls to mitigate compliance risk.
• Non-Compliance Correction: Efficiently identify, prevent, detect, and correct instances of non-compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

Interaction
• Consultation and Advice: Provide ongoing advice and consultation to all business functions and management on compliance and risk management matters.
• Ethics and Business Conduct Guidance: Offer guidance on ethics, business conduct, and compliance matters, ensuring that all employees adhere to established standards.
• Collaboration with Regulators: Act as the point of contact for regulators during audits and information requests, ensuring clear and timely communication.
• Management Reporting: Regularly update management on compliance matters, changes in the regulatory environment, and the status of compliance programs.

Cross-Functional Coordination: Work collaboratively with different departments to ensure that compliance policies are integrated into all business processes and operations

The Successful Applicant

10-15 Years of compliance experience preferably from a Fintech/NBFC Background

The Compliance officer must have experience in overseeing third-party examinations and audits including regulatory audits

Possess a network of strong relationships with relevant regulators as well as others in the industry

Ability to work under pressure, prioritize and respond to business needs and goals
