We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Head of DAO ESG Capability Services.

The Opportunity:
The Head of DAO ESG Capability Services supports the Unlock pillar of the strategy.
ESG data and analytics is an important enabler for the bank’s strategy and to enable and achieve its ambitions. The ESG Data team sources and refines reusable data sets, whilst the ESG Analytics team identifies new opportunities to create value, delivers key insights through business intelligence and provides the expertise required to support delivery. The DAO ESG Delivery team works with product owners to delivery ESG data and analytics products and services to Global Businesses / Global Functions. The ESG Data Utility is capability that has been created by to support the build and consistent delivery of data assets, BI and analytics services to our internal customers.
With the focus on Sustainability in our Group Strategy and the increasing amount of regulator interest in ESG, this role holder will be a key link to enable the capability to support Global Businesses / Global Functions in their Sustainability and ESG journeys by being able to offer the DAO ESG products and services to meet their requirements.
What you’ll do:
Build and lead the team in India to deliver the ESG Data Utility book of work required according to plans within allocated budget.
Ensure a center of service excellence to deliver a seamless experience to internal customers through knowledge sharing, training and inspiring the team located in India.
Run governance forums to ensure appropriate escalation paths and approvals.
Act as a key exco member for the Head of Data & Analytics Scaled Services India and the Global Head of ESG Data & Analytics
Drive continuous improvement and reduce duplication by adopting standardized processes and leveraging common delivery areas.
Work to closely partner with other members of the ESG Data Utility to manage the day-to-day operations of the India team including the orchestration of various teams.
Work closely with the Global Head of ESG Data & Analytics to determine and execute strategy.
Lead collaboration initiatives from a delivery perspective into DAO ESG’s strategy and capability to enable scale.
Collaborate across functions to scale, operationalize and embed successful initiatives within the business
Act as a conduit and a point of escalation between the central team and the extended India team to deliver the book of work
Lead multi-disciplinary Agile pods to delivery to product owner outcomes.
Enforce common delivery standards and manage a delivery book of work with transparency on plans, risks and issues.
Accountable lead in driving strategy and shaping the programme approach across a series of projects or component activities, building stakeholder buy-in around plans, commitments and changes
Accountable lead in driving programme delivery proactively, balancing scope, schedule, interdependencies, budget and risks
Accountable lead defining staffing, responsibilities and schedules
Accountable lead in establishing effective programme controls and procedures
Accountable lead in setting high level expectations concerning quality and put in place quality assurance processes
Accountable lead in managing relationships with external suppliers
Accountable lead in providing visible leadership to maintain a focus on how the programme aligns to the change portfolio

Develop and leverage strong relationships with sponsors and stakeholders across HSBC in order to address key challenges or identify opportunities through ESG Data and Analytics
Inspire, educate, engage and influence colleagues across the organization regarding the power of ESG data and analytics as well as business intelligence
Requirements
What you will need to succeed in the role
The Data Change Management chapter owns the skills required to understand, plan, implement and communicate change effectively. The types of change can be relatively broad, and include organizational, technology, data or process changes. Data Change Management will typically work extensively with other chapters to assemble the expertise required to deliver a given outcome, though with direct accountability for
Analysts to understand and shape the change required
Decision-making to plan and implement the change
Governance support to ensure change is communicated, adheres to best practices and evidence decision-making appropriately
Active in the wider industry with strong contacts and connections in both academia and commerce; an industry ‘voice’ within the ESG, Data, Analytics and insight space
Data analytics tools such as Python, Spark, and HadoopTrack record of developing successful Analytics functions delivering actionable insight
Track-record of developing and implementing strategy for growing evolving a new capability
Track-record of managing deliveries of data heavy programmes of work.
Track-record of leading Agile multi-disciplined teams to deliver exceptional customer service and value
Track-record of delivering ESG analytics within Financial Institutions
Experience in delivering in a highly regulated environment
Knowledge of pertinent ESG frameworks and subjects
Knowledge of MLOps and ML engineering pipelines preferable
Active interest in issues and challenges pertaining to ESG Analytics and related topics
