Position Overview:
Seeking an experienced and driven Head of Engineering to join the team (remote and full time role). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud, mobile, and web development, working closely with the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and product management teams to create and execute on the company’s roadmap. This role reports directly to the CTO. The candidate must have experience leading high-performance distributed teams and a strong aptitude for the Agile process.
Key Responsibilities:
• Agile Process: Manage software development projects using SCRUM techniques with 1-2 week Sprint cycles.
• Drive Continuous Improvement for the Engineering Team: Provide expertise in managing and improving teams to optimize productivity.
• Security and Best Practice Focus: Understand the implications of design and architecture decisions in areas such as security, reliability, performance, and compliance.
• Team Contributor: Work professionally and productively with peers, other engineering departments, and product management teams.
• Independent Contributor: Quickly integrate into a young but existing codebase and infrastructure, contributing without formal training or mentoring.
Qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience managing engineering teams.
• Strong knowledge of at least one software development language.
• Extensive experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to perform under pressure.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• A history of successfully managing remote teams.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices.
