We are looking for an experienced Head of Engineering to drive the engineering standards and capabilities across our exciting range of digital solutions, services and platforms. As the Head of Engineering, you will be responsible for leading and motivating a multi-disciplinary team of dynamic, highly-skilled technical team leads and individuals.

Key Deliverables & Accountabilities
Lead our Engineering Team to scale our platform into the next level. You understand the concept of leadership through practice and don’t shy away from leading the charge on building out infrastructures and resolving risk mitigation efforts. As a result you know who to hire next in order to achieve business-oriented goals.
Technology
• Lead by example by balancing a hands-on mentality with your team leadership role
• Support and work on Optimization of our Cloud and Software infrastructure
• Improve the team’s software engineering skills/practices
• Build out our customer focussed & data-intensive applications – we’re growing and you make sure our tech scale stays ahead of that growth
· Ensure timely and managed transitions away from legacy platforms, before they become an impediment to progress.
Process
• Set the architectural direction for the delivery of software
• Work with Product Leadership to align the engineering efforts with Business Goals
• Manage Engineering related projects and collaborate on sprint planning with the Product and Success teams
• Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of engineering projects, ensuring that they fall within budget and on schedule.
• Proactively analyze risks and plan to mitigate.
• Manage weekly KPIs and identify areas of improvement.
• Improve operational efficiencies, including creating processes and best practices
• Further develop our capability, processes and team structures in managing change, agile software development and rapid deployment, cyber security, data management and service management
• Documentation for all releases and relevant updates.
People
• Lead with a customer oriented and value-driven mindset
• Manage, mentor, and lead a growing globally distributed team
· Support staff to be flexible and work within and across teams
· Frequent 1-on-1 sessions with direct reports to guide performance and career growth
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science (or related field), Master’s degree preferred
• 15+ years of technical experience within architecture development, integration of backend systems and development
• Minimum of 10+ years in a solution or technical architect role using service and hosting solutions such as private/public cloud IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS platforms
• Experience in building and scaling real- time distributed systems and infrastructure
• Proven solid hands-on experience in back-end or front-end system design and development pre-Management/Lead experience
• Extensive experience with cloud technologies and modern human-computer interfaces
• Extensive experience in recruiting, mentoring and retaining Engineering talents
• Championing engineering and operational excellence with a growth mindset
• Excellent project management skills
• Ability to prioritize development efforts and to deliver in alignment with the strategy and with a long-term mindset
• Excellence in network building and stakeholder management at all levels of the organization through effective communication and influencing skills
• Hands-on attitude and technical hand holding for all the developers/Testers
• Proactive, flexible and resulted-oriented approach
• Strong algorithm design, logical and reasoning skills
• Strong teamwork and leadership skills
• Problem solving and decision-making skills
• Should be aware of the Privacy by design process (User Data protection)
• Professional experience architecting/operating solutions built on AWS
