We are seeking a VP/AVP of EHS for a rapidly expanding client in the Food and Beverage industry, located in Gurgaon. Below is the job description:
Position: VP/AVP EHS

Reports To: Director EHS & Compliance
ROLE OVERVIEW
The VP/AVP of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) will be tasked with developing, implementing, and overseeing the company's EHS programs and policies to ensure adherence to local regulations. This role includes managing safety equipment, conducting safety inspections, and coordinating hazardous waste removal. The successful candidate will work across departments to deliver training on emergency response and hazardous material handling. Additionally, they will monitor environmental compliance, interact with regulatory agencies, and advise leadership on necessary corrective actions and precautionary measures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop and enforce EHS policies and ensure environmental compliance across various sites.
• Monitor and report on environmental performance at multiple locations.
• Oversee the annual BRSR report publication in compliance with SEBI regulations, involving robust environmental data management and external audits.
• Manage environmental MIS, track best practices, and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Collaborate with internal teams in supply chain and facilities to understand and communicate existing processes.
• Conduct internal training to ensure teams meet reporting and audit expectations.
• Design and implement environmental awareness programs.
• Create strategies for energy reduction, water conservation, and waste reduction.
• Identify opportunities for significant improvements in energy, water, and waste management, and prepare cost-benefit analyses for supporting technology or process changes.
• Engage with internal teams to facilitate the rapid deployment of necessary technologies and process updates.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop environmental impact mitigation controls for new or modified products, processes, and operations.
• Develop and implement emergency/crisis preparedness and response plans.
• Ensure facilities achieve relevant certifications, such as ISO 14001 (Environment).
• Stay updated on EHS legal requirements and ensure compliance across all sites.
• Liaise with government authorities as needed to support regulatory operations.
• Promote an environmental management culture throughout the organization.
• Oversee internal communications, employee engagement, and promotional EHS initiatives.
• Design and implement employee wellbeing programs covering occupational health, physical wellness, and mental and emotional health.
• Lead process improvements, framework development, and standardization of health, safety, and wellbeing (HSW) programs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• BE/BTech with a Diploma in Industrial Safety, MBA/PGDM in Industrial Safety & Environment Management, or MTech in Energy & Environmental Engineering.
• 12-20 years of experience in developing and implementing EHS procedures at a corporate level, preferably in the Retail, Food Retail, Logistics, or Chemicals industry.
