About the Role

As the Head of Financial Institutions Group, India you will be responsible for maximising business profitability from local FIG clients operating in the region by implementing and executing the Global FIG strategy. Your role requires strong people and industry leadership, with an emphasis on developing and expanding our market position by maximising revenue opportunities. Strong knowledge & experience of Risk Management is essential coupled with experience in FIG Relationship Management or products and demonstrated leadership capabilities.

Key responsibilities including growing the FIG business through developing and driving the regional strategy, direct deal engagement, senior client sponsorship & managing financial and non-financial risks. You will have a demonstrated competence in key lending, transaction banking, financial markets and structured finance capabilities of relevance to the financial institutions sector which will be used in the execution of your responsibilities. You will develop and maintain internal relationships with key stakeholders including regional and country management, product partners and your Fl team counterparts around the world in order to deliver an efficient global account coverage program, as well as your R&A and Credit partners.

Your role is a member of the India senior management team as a business head and will help shape the culture and the business.

What will your day look like?

As a Head of Financial Institutions Group, India, you will:
Grow the FIG business through developing and driving the regional strategy, direct deal engagement, senior client sponsorship & managing regional credit and non-credit risks.
Develop and maintain internal relationships with key stakeholders’ country management, product partners and your Fl team counterparts around the world in order to deliver an efficient global account coverage program, as well as your R&A and Credit partners.
Lead client relationships to achieve maximum returns as well as top and bottom-line revenue targets for Financial Institutions client set.
Lead discussions with Product Partners, R&A team and other stakeholders as required to define/ establish credit requirements, including deal structuring and risk mitigation.
Strong engagement, collaboration, communication and influencing skills with all stakeholders including country heads, product partners and risk colleagues.
Role modelling and promoting ANZ values, Create. Deliver. Together behaviours and our aspirational culture and leading the team to do the same.

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

Experience in working with Financial Institutions coverage including managing a portfolio of Fl clients, demonstrable business development skills and relationship coverage of sophisticated clients.
Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and sound understanding of local market.
A demonstrated competence in key lending, transaction banking, financial markets and structured finance capabilities of relevance to the financial institutions sector which will be used in the execution of your responsibilities
Strong risk management skills (financial and non-financial) acquired through broad experience in a corporate & institutional banking environment.
Strong team player with demonstrated ability to build solid internal and external relationships
Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to interface with clients at both management and working level.
The ability to lead and motivate diverse teams, anchoring your approach in ANZ's values and leadership behaviours. This includes a reputation for coaching, encouraging curiosity and investing in people development.
Self-motivated and proactive with capacity to operate successfully across cultures.
