JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: AGM - Head of Investments Back Office
Location: Mumbai – Lower Parel
Department: Finance
Reporting to: Director – Finance
Context & Role
The jobholder will be responsible for derivative accounting, accurate and timely calculation of NAV, settlement of investment deals, MIS reporting, reconciliations, investment accounting, IRDAI reporting, US GAAP reporting, and IFRS reporting. They will manage a team of 2 to 3 people.
Key Responsibilities
• Responsible for day-to-day back-office settlement of deals, liaison with custodian, and performing various reconciliations
• Responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of in-house NAV calculation
• Knowledge of Investment Accounting and interaction with the Finance team
• Investment Reporting as required by IRDAI, the US team, and Management
• Interaction with the US IT Team for the Investment Management Functions for GAAP accounting
• IFRS Reporting
• Verification of Income & accruals
• Investment accounting
• Derivative accounting and Hedge effectiveness testing (HET)
• Managing Stat audit, Concurrent audit, internal / IRMS audit
Measures of Performance
• Preparation of US GAAP financials & IFRS reporting
• Accuracy in Derivative accounting & HET
• Timely completion of all audits
• Accuracy and timeliness of NAV reporting
• Strict adherence to valuation policy for MTM
• Correctness of Income accrual & investment accounting entries.
• Accuracy in the settlement of deals
• Broker Empanelment & Review
• Accuracy & Timeliness in management reporting
Desired qualifications and experience
• CA/ CFA and/ or an MBA with a specialization in Finance from a premier institute
• About 8-10 years’ experience
