Job Description

Full job description
About Us
Bridgit is a leading non-bank lender transforming the way Australians access property finance. Purpose-built to make property transactions faster and easier, we pioneered the Buy Now, Sell Later solution – empowering homeowners to unlock their property equity and move on their terms. With a simple digital application, fast approvals, and flexible loan options, we’re making property finance seamless and stress-free.

We’re now five years old and making huge strides. We have accredited over three quarters of Australia’s broker network, and launched white label solutions with Australia’s largest aggregators – Connective, Aussie Home Loans, Finsure, and Loan Market Group – and we’re just getting started.

Our momentum has been recognised with awards such as Best Growth Story at the 2025 Fintech Awards, 2025 Finder People’s Choice Award for Lending Innovation, the finalist for Excellence in Lending (Business & Consumer) at the 2025 Finnies, Deloitte's tech fast 50 2025 and finally; being recognised as one of LinkedIn’s top 20 Start Up’s in Australia 2025.
The difference you’ll make
Bridgit is redefining how Australian homeowners move. We've built a smarter, faster take on bridging finance, and now we're expanding our mortgage suite. This is the role that shapes what comes next.
As Head of Mortgages, you'll own the full lifecycle: from spotting market gaps and designing new products, through to credit policy, risk frameworks, and portfolio performance. You'll work across commercial, credit, and technology, making the calls that determine how we grow and how sustainably we do it.
What you’ll do
Someone who lives at the intersection of innovation, commerciality, and risk. You can spot opportunity and stress-test it in the same breath. You've done this before at pace, probably inside a lender or fintech where "move fast" and "don't blow up the book" had to coexist.
If you're done with the red tape of traditional banking and want to build something tech-forward and customer-centric, we should talk.
New Product Development & Strategy
Identify & Launch: Lead the identification, design, and launch of innovative mortgage solutions tailored to today’s borrowers.
Commercial Balance: Ensure all new lending products strike the perfect balance between market opportunity, strong commercial outcomes and disciplined risk controls.
Scalability: Develop credit frameworks that allow our mortgage offerings to scale rapidly as Bridgit expands its footprint.
Credit Risk Management
Sustainable Growth: Build and manage the risk frameworks that ensure our portfolio growth is both ambitious and sustainable.
Portfolio Oversight: Monitor loan book performance to identify emerging trends, providing early identification of risks as we scale.
Data-Driven Insights: Use portfolio analytics to recommend adjustments to risk appetite settings and product-specific credit parameters.
Credit Policy & Governance
Policy Evolution: Lead the development and ongoing evolution of Bridgit’s Credit Policy and Responsible Lending framework to stay ahead of market shifts.
Regulatory & Funding Alignment: Ensure all policies remain strictly aligned with NCCP requirements, consumer credit regulations, and funding partner expectations.
Operational Integration: Work with Product and Tech teams to translate policy into seamless, system-based workflows and automated decisioning tools.

What we are looking for
Mortgage Expertise: 10+ years of experience in credit risk, credit policy, or mortgage product design within the Australian non-bank and bank industry.
Regulatory Mastery: A deep understanding of Australian consumer credit regulations, National Consumer Credit Protection (NCCP) requirements, and responsible lending obligations.
Strategic Builder: Proven experience translating high-level credit policy into operational processes and digital decisioning frameworks.
Commercial Acumen: Strong commercial judgment with the ability to balance risk mitigation with the need for product innovation and growth.
Agile Mindset: The ability to operate effectively and pivot quickly within a fast-growing, high-energy fintech environment.
Collaborative Leader: A track record of partnering effectively with CEOs, COOs, and technology teams to deliver complex financial products.
Our Culture and Benefits
Bridgit values its team, they are the heart of how we build this business. Along with competitive remuneration, slick offices and the chance to be part of an innovative, agile fintech, we also offer:
Extra Leave – We offer birthday leave + an additional day of paid leave to be used for life events, celebrations, or just a mental health reset.
Two Weeks from Anywhere – We encourage employees to work remotely from a location of their choice for two weeks each year.
Learning and Development – All employees are encouraged and empowered to engage in professional development, including a number of learning initiatives run internally.
Social Events – We have a jam-packed social scene, with events throughout the year to bring the team together!
