Head of Regulatory Sciences in Hyderabad, India is a core member of the BMS India Leadership team and an extended member of the Global Regulatory Sciences(GRS) Leadership team at BMS. As such, the position is accountable for the sustained health, growth and continuous improvement of the Regulatory Science team in Hyderabad, India, inclusive of developing effective partnerships with critical stakeholders across BMS India-Hyerabad/R&D. This role contributes to the local Regulatory Sciences, Hyderabad-India and the broader Global Regulatory Sciences organization, ensuring compliance with regulatory, corporate and departmental requirements and policies.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Responsible for managing regulatory sciences team that spans across the entire R&D Portfolio including all therapeutic areas and phases of development.

Advises the GRS Leadership Team on emerging trends locally in a robust regulatory capability, people technologies and standards. Implement and oversee any changes that may impact sustainability of organization.

Drive operational excellence within the regulatory sciences organization by building an organization, aligning to the brand of GRS and Global Development.

Provides leadership for ensuring quality in all deliverables.

Serves as a member of the BMS India Hyderabad LT and an extended LT member of GRS leadership team. Participates in development and execution of GRS Strategic Plan and is accountable for its successful implementation.

Translates company and departmental strategies into operational goals and objectives.

Effectively recruits, manages, develops, evaluates, rewards, and retains India regulatory sciences organization resulting in an increasing level of capabilities for the GRS organization.

Reinforces the BMS commitment to leadership and development by providing or facilitating training and experiential opportunities and continuous coaching and feedback throughout the organization. Partner appropriately within local and global teams to drive leadership capability.

Leads or contributes to the development of innovative hiring, processes, and technology including the implementation of associated solutions that ensure the efficient delivery of high quality and timely statistical analyses.

Serves as an influential leader across R&D, and developing strong and productive working relationships with key stakeholders throughout BMS with the ability to think strategically across a broad portfolio and effectively express his/her views to senior management

Develops and promotes a work place culture that values diversity of thought, promotes integrity and creates an atmosphere that supports coaching and fosters accountability.

Requirements:

Graduate degree science or equivalent experience.

Minimum of 12 years Regulatory experience

Minimum 7 years’ experience in managing technical professionals in a regulated environment.

Minimum 5 years’ experience in managing people and growing teams.

Significant knowledge of the drug development process, clinical trial methodology, statistics, and relevant regulatory requirements for drug approval.

Demonstrated ability to operate and lead in a matrix organization, building successful working relationships and effective stakeholder management in an environment with multiple lines of authority and competing needs.

Demonstrated ability to interact successfully with senior business partners both internal and external to BMS.

Ability to be flexible and organize multiple work assignments.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
