Role and Responsibilities:
A. Operations:
Ø Maintains the stability and reputation of the store by complying with legal requirements.
Ø Maintains operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing retail operational policies and procedures manual
Ø Implement and maintain retail operational policies and procedures to incorporate a sales plan, cost control, shrinkage management, and reduction, audit compliance, and people management.
Ø Contributes to future development at strategic and operational level Plans, identifies, communicates, and delegates key responsibilities and practices to the store management team to ensure a smooth flow of retail operations
B. Sales:
Ø Increase sales to maximize profitability while reducing costs through well-managed operational controls.
Ø Drive sales and retail improvements through analysis and support.
Ø Propose measures to improve operational performance.
Ø Ongoing review of sales results versus targets and budget
C. Staff:
Ø Ensures store operations requirements are fulfilled including scheduling, assigning employees, and following up on work results.
Ø Maintains store staff by assisting in recruitment, selection, orientation, and training.
Ø Maintains store staff results by coaching, counseling, disciplining, planning, monitoring and appraising job results.
Ø Protects staff by providing a safe and clean environment.
Ø Commercial communication to all staff.
Ø Develop the sales staff and support areas to optimize sales and profits.
Ø Create and develop a coaching culture as well as promoting an environment that promotes diversity.
Ø Lead the store team to deliver a profitable business.
Ø Ensure staff have a high level of customer awareness and product knowledge.
Ø Liaise with the Training Department to develop and manage the company's sales and product training programs.
D. Merchandise:
Ø Formulates pricing policies by reviewing merchandise activities, determining additional sales promotions, authorization stock clearance and studying trends.
Ø Market merchandise by studying advertising, sales promotions, and display plans.
Ø Secures merchandise by implementing security systems and measures.
Ø Set the highest national merchandise standards.
Ø Liaise with the Buying department to ensure range and stock levels are consistent with business requirements.
E. Financial:
Ø Achieve financial objectives by preparing budgets, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
Ø Maximize sales and profitability for the company.
Ø Set monthly targets, and monthly and annual budgets.
Ø Update forecast results closely with the COO to provide quality retail information
F. Customers:
Ø Identifies current and future requirements by establishing rapport with potential and actual customers and other persons in a position to understand service requirements.
Ø Protects customers by providing a safe and clean environment.
Ø Take account of customers' needs and shopping habits and competitor activity.
Ø Use a range of internal and external information data to initiate business changes and create a customer-focused culture
G. Marketing:
Ø Determines marketing strategy changes by reviewing operating and financial statements and departmental sales records.
Candidate Profile:
1. Experience in independently handling all the Departments.
2. Willing to travel to all locations of the company including plants and offices etc. as and when required.
3. In-depth knowledge of operations of Retail business.
4. Rollout of new locations and plan to generate new revenue for organizations.
5. Experience in handling vendor management.
