Role Description
We are seeking a forward- thinking leader to head our retail locations in both Goring & Ferring. This brand new role will be key to driving store performance, enhancing customer experience, and achieving financial goals. As the Head of Retail, you will be a key leader, inspiring and motivating teams while ensuring operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service, alongside managing day-to-day operations to align with company goals and values.
Key Responsibilities
• Store Operations: Manage all aspects of daily operations, ensuring excellent service and an organised environment. Implement and manage operational procedures to boost efficiency, reduce costs, and improve productivity.
• Staff Leadership: Lead, coach, and motivate store consultants, providing training and support to help the team reach KPIs. Foster a positive, collaborative work environment with ongoing performance reviews and development plans.
• Stock Management: Manage inventory to meet demand, manage stock turnover, and maintain clear communication between stores and our warehouse.
• Customer Service: Ensure high standards of service, handle escalated queries, and develop strategies to enhance customer LTV.
• Financial Performance: Drive sales and financial performance, generating regular reports on operational metrics.Work closely with Senior Management to analyse performance and develop strategies to exceed targets.
• Health and Safety: Serve as the appointed Health and Safety person for the stores, conducting audits, identifying hazards, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
Requirements
• Proven retail management experience, ideally in the pet retail sector.
• Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and motivate teams..
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills, with a passion for exceeding customer expectations.
• Financial acumen with experience managing sales performance and reporting.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage stock, operations, and staff efficiently.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a retail environment.
• A passion for animals and pet care is highly desirable.
