We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Health and Safety Coordinator to join our team. Working out of the Edmonton branch, you will play a key role in promoting a strong safety culture across both the Edmonton and Calgary branches. You will be responsible for implementing and monitoring health and safety programs, ensuring regulatory compliance, conducting site inspections, and supporting safe operations across our projects across all active job sites with a focus on the Oil Sands.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across field sites.
Develop, implement, enforce and manage safety programs, policies, and procedures.
Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and recommend corrective actions.
Deliver safety orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing training to field and office staff.
Maintain and update health and safety documentation
Ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal safety regulations.
Act as a liaison with clients, managers and field employees regarding safety matters.
Collaborate with management and field teams to identify and mitigate potential risks.
Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, and incident reports.
Support and maintain compliance through online contractor management platforms including Avetta, ISNetworld, and client specific portals
Coordinate external/internal COR audits
Support emergency preparedness and response initiatives including drill coordination and plan updates
Qualifications:
Occupational Health and Safety certificate, diploma or degree or from a related field is preferred - NCSO at a minimum is required
Minimum 5 years experience in a safety role within field operations in the oil & gas industry.
Willingness to travel frequently
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to adhere to company drug and ******* policy
Experience running company safety program is preferred
Experience with COR certification is preferred
Skills
Strong knowledge of safety regulations and standards
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite and safety management systems.
Clean driving record as you need the ability to travel to various field sites as needed.
