Intent of the process
The intent of this process is to staff one 1-year determinate position (with the possibility of extension) located in Hamilton, Ontario.
A pool of fully or partially qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions within Natural Resources Canada with various tenures (determinate period or indeterminate), various language requirements, various security requirements, various conditions of employment and for various locations.

Education:
A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives (see Note).
Note:

An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Degree equivalency
Experience:
Cleaning and maintaining basic tools, equipment, and work sites.
Implementing and observing health and safety guidelines, processes and procedures.
Maintaining technical logs, files and records, databases, and inventories.
Operating and applying related software.
Abilities:
To organize work and establish priorities to meet deadlines.
To use word processing applications, Excel and PowerPoint.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
Working with dangerous chemicals such as: sulfides, concentrated acids, organic solvents and other.
Knowledge:
Of the practices of maintaining files and record systems.
Abilities & Competencies
Troubleshoot, calibrate, maintain, and repair assorted sensors and bench equipment.
Work with compressed gases, acids, bases and other chemicals.
To work under pressure of tight deadlines and changes in priorities.
