Contract: Permanent, Part Time 0.5 FTE x 2 positions, Rostered and Rotating

About the Role

This role supports the medical and nursing/midwifery team by maintaining non nursing/midwifery and administrative tasks which allow the staff to focus on delivery of patient/family care in service area. We are seeking someone who will be available 7 days a week, mornings and afternoons and can work flexible hours.

About the Team/Service Location

The Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Service provides tertiary-level care for the Central Region of New Zealand and operates a 24-hour Infant Retrieval Service. The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is resourced for up to 40 cots, with the ability to expand to 46 when required.

The service also provides telephone consultation and clinical advice across the region, as well as education and support to Level II referral units. Within the Capital & Coast area, the NICU delivers Level II and Level I neonatal care, ensuring continuity of care for infants and families.

Our Transport team ensures infants are retrieved and returned to Regional SCBU as needed to support expert care.

The NICU team is a multidisciplinary workforce comprising neonatologists, nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, registered nurses, allied health professionals, and

support staff. The team works collaboratively to provide family-centred, safe, and evidence-based care for premature and critically unwell infants. In addition to direct clinical care, the team supports families in transition from hospital to community services and contributes to regional quality improvement, teaching, and education initiatives

Work with imprest team to maintain NICU consumables
Support nursing staff with cleaning and restocking of clinical area
Housekeeping / Kitchen duties
Administration
Maintaining high standards of health and safety
Milk Bank - Cleaning and Milk pasteurization
Skills & Experience

Previous hospitality experience desirable
Previous experience in a health care setting desirable
Computer skills
Good communication skills - written and verbal
Demonstrates administration and organisational skills
Working at Health New Zealand
