PERMANENT | PART-TIME (0.8 FTE)
Join our Mental Health & Community Services team and play a vital role in supporting the wellbeing of our Hokianga community. As a Health Coach, you will walk alongside Tangata Whaiora and their whānau, helping them build confidence, motivation, and the skills to understand and manage their physical and emotional wellbeing.
This role is all about holistic, whānau‑centred support. You’ll connect people with the right resources, networks, agencies, and services, ensuring they feel empowered and supported on their journey toward improved health and wellbeing.
You will have:
A genuine passion for working with whānau and delivering high‑quality, culturally grounded support
Strong relationship‑building skills that help you engage effectively with Tangata Whaiora, whānau, clinical teams, and community partners
A Level 4 qualification in Mental Health (or equivalent), or a commitment to working toward one
Experience supporting mental health whaiora in a community setting is an advantage.
A full and current driver’s licence (essential)

PRIMARY HEALTHCARE SERVICES MANAGER
We are looking for an experienced and motivated manager to lead our primary care, community nursing, public health, specialist services, health promotion, and home‑based support teams.
As part of our Executive Leadership Team, you’ll shape high‑quality, culturally grounded services that support positive health outcomes for whānau across the rohe. The role blends strategic planning with hands‑on operational leadership, working closely with team leaders to ensure care is coordinated, responsive, and aligned with kaupapa Māori values.
What you’ll lead
Service planning, delivery, and continuous improvement
Clinical governance, quality systems, and medicines management
NASC and home‑based support services
Data‑informed decision making and operational performance
A positive, high‑performing team culture
Relationships with whānau, community partners, and funders
What you’ll bring
A relevant clinical qualification (NZ registration preferred)
Strong understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and culturally safe practice
Significant clinical experience, ideally in rural or community settings
Proven leadership in health services
Strength in communication, relationships, service planning, and quality improvement
Confidence using data and managing budgets
A full NZ driver licence
Postgraduate study in a relevant field (or willingness to work toward one)

Cornerstone accredited. Training available for those looking to expand their practice in rural medicine. Medical Officer Position Description
Rural Registrar Placement: broaden your skillset through exposure to a wide variety of presentations working within a close-knit, supportive team. Rural Hospital – level 2 and Rural General Practice runs can be carried out in tandem over a 12-month placement.
Applicants must be registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand to practice as a Doctor in New Zealand. Accommodation provided.
NURSING OPPORTUNITIES
Registered Nurse: support a diverse range of patients across accident and emergency, acute inpatient, and hospital level residential care across a 24/7 shift roster.
Community Health Nurse: undertake a wide range of nursing duties in our rural community including district nursing, public health nursing, practice nursing, well child nursing and palliative care.
Nurse Practitioner: demonstrate nursing leadership and provide clinical advice, care, and education. Place whānau at the centre of care, exploring health and wellbeing concerns, preferences, health behaviours, attitudes and priorities using a Kaupapa Māori strengths-based approach.
Ideal candidates will have at least 2 years’ experience, however applications are welcome from new graduates. Previous experience in a rural setting or Māori health provider is desirable. You’ll need a current drivers license and practicing certificate, with the ability to pass a police background check.
