If this sounds like you, then this opportunity may be the perfect fit!

There are over 40,000 Indigenous people in our Nation’s Capital, and Wabano serves over 15,000 of them every year. While our core business is health care, Wabano is also a cultural hub for Indigenous people in the National Capital Region. For over 25 years, Wabano has been a place where community, culture, and wellness come together — offering programs ranging from traditional teachings and cultural events to chronic disease prevention and outreach services.

We are now looking for a compassionate and dedicated Health Educator / Health Promotion Nurse to join our team and help lead our health promotion initiatives that empower Indigenous communities through knowledge, cultural connection, and care.

Key Responsibilities:

Flu Vaccination Campaign: Support flu vaccination initiatives through outreach and education to increase awareness and participation in the campaign.
Cultural Sensitivity: Deliver health education in a culturally respectful and accessible manner that aligns with the values and traditions of the communities served.
What We’re Looking For:

A Health Educator, Health Promotion Nurse, or similar qualification with experience in community outreach and health education.
An understanding of Indigenous health issues and a deep respect for Indigenous culture and traditions.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse community members in a positive and empowering manner.
Experience organizing and facilitating community events and educational programs.
A proactive, empathetic approach to health promotion and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Indigenous languages is an asset.
Driver license is needed with a good driving record
Salary Range:

$75,000 to $80,000 plus benefits

Why Work With Us:

Collaborative and supportive work environment.
