The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Administration Officer in the Maternity Services department. As an Administration Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our maternity services. Your responsibilities will include managing patient records, coordinating appointments, and providing administrative support to our midwife managers.
What You Will Do
You will be responsible for covering reception duties, including booking patients in for their birthing process and other medical procedures. You will also admit visitors outside of visiting hours, answer enquiries from visitors and inpatients, both in person and on the telephone. Additionally, you will maintain effective electronic and paper filing systems, coordinate Birth Notifications, arrange outpatient clinic appointments, and provide administrative support to the midwife managers when required.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have previous experience in a busy administration role, with a strong eye for detail and excellent word processing and data entry skills. You will also need to be flexible and able to prioritize your workload effectively. It would be advantageous if you have experience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
