BGR Equipment Hire are a family-owned Australian business located in Manjimup, Western Australia. Providing a wide range of services such as mechanical repairs, hire of equipment and civil construction.
An opportunity has arisen for a qualified Mechanic to join the team based in Manjimup. The successful candidate will be required to undertake mechanical repairs on our range of fleet and customers vehicles including:
Prime Movers
Heavy Haulage trailers
Forestry Equipment up to 40t
Earthmoving Equipment up to 40t
The successful applicant will be responsible for carrying out maintenance on our fleet to the highest standard and knowledge of heavy diesel mechanics across various ages, makes and models of vehicles and equipment including trailers and dollies is essential.
Duties will include but not limited to;
Repairs to driveline components, underbody, brakes, bearings, suspension and engine rebuilds.
Effectively diagnose and find faults in the mechanical assessment of all aspects of the HV truck fleet and trailers.
Carry out a diverse range of mechanical repairs.
Carry out scheduled service and repairs to customers’ vehicles in the company workshop as required.
Travel and perform service and repair jobs off site.
Mentor apprentices.
Knowledge of hydraulic hoses is preferable but not essential.
Experience building engines.

Relevant trade certificate
Good communication and record keeping skills
Strong commitment to health and safety in the workplace
Current Australian drivers’ licence – MR/HR/MC highly regarded
A self-sufficient worker with a focus on results-based outcomes
A positive approach to challenges & change with the ability to adapt
Excellent diagnostic, fault finding, troubleshooting and preventative maintenance skills.
The ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously with high attention to detail
The ability to mentor and develop apprentices on your team
Willingness to work away when required at remote locations
