Job Description
The Mechanic will report to the Mechanic Supervisor, a journeyman with over 30 years experience, and will assist in the maintenance and repair of the equipment used in construction and other related tasks in our landscape construction company.
The winning candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, high attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to multitask, capable of handling situations as they arise. You are able to work independently and in a team-based environment.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
• Troubleshoot and service various maintenance, construction, and snow/ice removal equipment in both a shop environment and in the field as required
• Utilize manuals and diagnostic equipment to perform work duties
• Maintain work orders
• Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, small engine equipment, and materials
• Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems
• Work on many different types of machinery
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on company vehicles, trucks, and equipment
• Use the company’s various apps/software to track and monitor service tickets and upcoming maintenance intervals
• Write down requests for parts/consumables and other items on the department parts request sheet
• Assist with the ordering of parts and inventory (oils, NAPA parts, gloves, etc)
• Reduce time to complete work or overall ways for the company to reduce costs
• Manages shop cleanliness and organization
Who you are:
• Valid Journeyman Heavy Duty Technician ticket
• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in a similar role
• Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s License
• Possesses own tools
• Ability to manage tasks in a timely and efficient manner
• Demonstrated willingness to learn and succeed
• Proficiency with computer maintenance programs
• Experience with commercial mowing equipment (Toro, John Deere, Walker)
• Hydraulic AND Diesel engine diagnostic experience
• Physically fit and professional
• Able to work long hours (8-12 hours/day, 5-6 Days/Week)
• Attention to detail
Regular full time shifts are Monday to Friday. Compensation will be based on experience. We look forward to hearing from you!
