Our team is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic +-E10 for our Bureau of Field Services Team. Experience

Required Education and Experience

Education typically acquired through completion of high school.

Heavy Equipment Mechanic 8

No specific type or amount is required.

Heavy Equipment Mechanic +

Two years of experience assisting skilled trades people in the repair and maintenance of heavy equipment.

Heavy Equipment Mechanic E10

Four years of experience assisting skilled trades people in the repair and maintenance of heavy equipment, including two years equivalent to a Heavy Equipment Mechanic +.

Alternate Education And Experience

Possession of an associate degree in Heavy Duty Truck/Heavy Equipment Repair may be substituted for two years of experience assisting skilled trades workers in the repair and maintenance of heavy equipment.

Completion of 12 semester (18 term) credits in one or more of the following coursework areas: heavy duty truck, heavy equipment repair, diesel engines, math, or physics may be substituted for one year of experience assisting skilled trades workers in the repair and maintenance of heavy equipment.

Two years of experience assisting skilled trades workers in the repair and maintenance of automobiles may be substituted for one year of experience assisting skilled trades workers in the repair and maintenance of heavy equipment.

To be considered for this position you must:

• Possess a Commercial Learner’s Permit upon appointment to the position. Continuing employment requires possession of a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Group A with either an N or X endorsement and no air brake restrictions which must be obtained within 12 months of the date of hire into the position.

Applicants who possess foreign degrees must have their academic credentials evaluated or converted into U.S. educational equivalents.
