Heavy Equipment Mechanic
Location: Salome, AZ (On-site)

Position Overview
The client is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to ensure the functionality, safety, and longevity of heavy-duty machinery and equipment at their Salome, AZ facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills in equipment maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of hydraulic and electrical systems, while maintaining a commitment to safety and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect, diagnose, and repair engines, hydraulic systems, and mechanical/electrical components using diagnostic tools and computerized testing equipment.
Perform preventive and routine maintenance such as oil changes, lubrication, and adjustments to ensure peak performance.
Plan and coordinate maintenance schedules with department managers to minimize downtime.
Repair or replace worn components, including hydraulic cylinders, hoses, and 12V/24V electrical systems.
Conduct welding and metal fabrication for repairs and structural reinforcement.
Inspect and test heavy equipment such as excavators, forklifts, shears, bobcats, and grapples for faults or safety issues.
Maintain and service attachments such as blades, winches, and booms.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to improve equipment uptime.
Maintain detailed maintenance records through a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
Monitor inventory levels for parts and tools; coordinate reordering as needed.
Ensure full compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
Train and guide operators on preventive maintenance and safe equipment handling.
Keep the maintenance area clean, organized, and compliant with safety protocols.
Qualifications
Experience: 8–10 years of hands-on experience in the maintenance and repair of heavy-duty machinery.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in troubleshooting hydraulic systems, repairing cylinders, and diagnosing 12V/24V electrical systems.
Additional Skills: Skilled in welding, metal fabrication, and using diagnostic tools.
Knowledge: Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
Familiarity with CMMS software preferred.
