We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Underground Equipment Technician to join our team, currently deployed at the Rainy River Mine. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical background and be proficient in the maintenance and repair of Sandvik production drilling equipment. This role is crucial in ensuring that all machinery operates efficiently and safely, contributing to the overall productivity of our operations.
Responsibilities
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on industrial equipment, ensuring optimal performance.
Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, automation, and HVAC issues.
Operate forklifts and cranes safely to move equipment and materials as needed.
Perform daily drill checks in conjunction with the operators.
Conduct inspections to identify potential issues before they become significant problems.
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks.
Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and equipment performance.
Requirements
Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive repair or industrial equipment maintenance.
Familiarity with welding techniques is preferred.
Experience working with Sandvik Automation is preferred.
Strong troubleshooting skills in both mechanical and electrical systems.
Ability to work independently.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing technologies.
