Duties and Responsibilities:
Operating North Star’s tractor and lowboy equipment trailers, moving equipment between various projects in Calgary and the surrounding area.
Safely Load and unload equipment and secure loads for transportation as required.
Perform daily preventative maintenance inspections and safety checks to proactively identify any potential mechanical issues and advise the Transportation Manager.
Keep the truck clean and professional at all times.
Complete daily accurate pre-inspection and post-inspection regulatory logs, Field Level Hazard Assessment sheets for all worksites, and submit timesheets.
Assist other employees when required.
Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum 3 years of experience moving Heavy Equipment.
Must have a valid Class 1 driver’s license and provide a current commercial 5-year driver abstract.
Must be able to drive standard (18 speed).
Construction Safety Training System (CSTS2020) Certification.
Ability to identify and describe mechanical issues on the truck/trailer.
Winch tractor experience is an asset.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
Must be available to work long hours including evenings and weekends.
Must have CSA-approved safety boots.
Able to climb up and down from equipment.
Must be able to work out of town.
Must be able to lift chains and boomers of all sizes.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 70 per week
