Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose & Repair: Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on a wide range of vehicles and equipment.
Preventative Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure all equipment operates efficiently and safely.
Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
Engine Rebuilds: Complete engine replacements, overhauls, and tune-ups when necessary.
Workshop Fabrication: Use our facilities to fabricate equipment to meet the needs of the vehicles.
Parts & Equipment: order parts and ensure equipment availability for repairs and replacement.
Safety Compliance: Ensure that all repairs and maintenance are performed in accordance with safety standards and regulatory standards.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all repairs, services, and maintenance activities. Basic Bookkeeping, invoicing and reporting is required.
Availability: Able to respond out-of-hours breakdowns as required.
We have a number of jobs for candidates who possess any of the following Qualifications & Skills:
Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Light or Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or similar role.
Certifications: Relevant trade certifications minimum Certificate III level.
Technical Skills: Strong understanding of diesel and internal combustion engines, fuel, hydraulic and electrical components, fabrication, and diagnostic tools.
Physical Ability: Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various positions, including standing, bending, and kneeling.
Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to work independently or in a team.
Driver’s Licenses: A valid driver’s license is required, with a clean driving record, and a Heavy Vehicle License (HR Minimum) can be obtained once commenced. A Forklift license is also required.
Clearances: Additional clearances such as SAPOL Contractor and Towing permit are required to fulfil the role.
